BCGold Announces Appointment of Brian Fowler and Advisory Board Members

October 04, 2006 – BCGold Corp. ("BCGold") (TSX VENTURE:BCG) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Brian P. Fowler, P.Geo. to the position of Vice President. Mr. Fowler is a founding director of BCGold and brings a wealth of technical and management experience and expertise to the Company. He has over 26 years experience as an explorationist working for junior, mid-tier and major mining companies on a global basis. Most recently he was a mining consultant responsible for the identification and evaluation of exploration and mining investment opportunities for Quest Capital Corp. and associated companies. Prior to this, he was Exploration Manager for Quadra Mining Ltd., where he oversaw advanced and pre-feasibility exploration projects in Chile and Peru. From 1991 to 2004, Mr. Fowler worked in a variety of technical and exploration managerial roles for Placer Dome Inc.

Mr. Fowler will continue to identify and negotiate quality acquisitions and joint venture opportunities, coordinate evaluations and build our exploration and corporate development group.

BCGold has also established an advisory board to assist the management team in the growth of the Company. The following individuals will compliment the management team and play an important role for BCGold:

Neil Adshead, Ph.D. (Geology)

  • Mining Analyst for a US-based investment fund;
  • Significant contacts with institutional investors, sell-side brokers and analysts
  • Fifteen years experience in mineral exploration and mining
  • Prior role as Technical Assistant to the Executive VP for Placer Dome Inc.

Robert Kendrick, P.Eng, AMP

  • Mining Engineer and graduate of Harvard University (Advanced Management Program)
  • 50+ years experience in the mining industry
  • Served for AMAX as VP & General Manager of Mines, VP & Manager of Exploration, and Senior VP of Operations
  • Served as President & CEO of Monarch Resources, President of Tecknomiven, President of Mineven, and President of Protomin
  • IESC – International Executive Service Corp.- in Argentina, Siberia and Kazakhstan

John Kowalchuk, P.Geo.

  • Vice President Exploration for Columbia Yukon Explorations Inc
  • 34+ years experience developing and managing exploration projects in Yukon and BC
  • Was involved in the discovery and advancement of several significant mineral deposits, including the Kerr porphyry copper-gold deposit, the Howard’s Pass stratiform zinc-lead deposit, the barium-lead-zinc and silver deposit in Driftpile Creek, and the Cleo Tungsten property in Northern Canada

Tim Searcy, P.Geo. MBA

  • President and CEO of Luna Gold and Vice President Business Development for Nautilus Minerals Inc.
  • Well connected within the capital markets and mineral resource sector
  • Solid corporate development experience with major and junior mining companies.

Randy Smallwood, P.Eng.

  • Director of Project Development for Goldcorp Inc., and Vice President Corporate Development for Silver Wheaton Corp.
  • Numerous contacts in the mining industry within British Columbia, Mexico and South America
  • Extensive experience in advanced stage project evaluation and acquisitions, feasibility studies and mine development
